1. Quickly advance and back. During the browsing process of web pages, if you want to jump to the screen of several pages in front and back, you need to press the "Forward" and "Back" keys, but how many times do you need to press it? Once, twice, or ten times? You can only wait for the web pages to be displayed on the screen one by one until the web page you are looking for appears. The new IE0 function will save the number of buttons and time. Just tap the down arrow key to the right of the "Back" key, and the page you have seen will be listed on the screen, and you can directly click on the one you want.
2. Automatically enter the form. When you fill in the form on the web page, IE5 prompts you whether to save the content of the input form. If you select "Save", the next time you come to this page to enter the form, IE will prompt you to select the items you have entered before. When you press ↓ in the table, a matching list will automatically expand, press Enter to select the correct input. For example, when you enter a new password in the form, IE5 will prompt you whether to protect this in the form of an encrypted file
3. Drag the address icon. There is a small icon on the left side of the browser address box, and the right side of the icon is the address of the WEB page you are currently visiting. Drag this icon to the desktop or put it into an open folder to create a shortcut for this address
4. Customize the toolbar. The steps are as follows: Click the "View" menu, select "Tools", select "Custom", select the tool button to be added in the "Available Toolbar Buttons", click the "Add" button to add to the "Current Toolbar Buttons", and in the "Text Options" drop-down list, you can specify whether the text description of the tool button and the location of the text to be displayed on the toolbar. "Show text label" is the name of the button displayed under each button on the toolbar, and "No text label" is the icon displayed on the toolbar. You can set the size of the icon in the Icon drop-down list.
5. Using IE0 for web design. In the past, web designers had to use specialized production tools such as FRONTPAGE when designing web pages. However, the IE0 browser launched by Microsoft now has greatly enhanced its web design functions than before. Many of its enhanced features are for web designers. Browsers with these features will allow web designers to design and maintain web pages in a simpler and more convenient way, while ordinary users cannot directly detect these features. For example: IE0 supports DHTML (dynamic hypertext markup language), XML (extensible markup language), and CSS (stage form). Designers can greatly simplify adding dynamic behavior to web pages. Page format can be directly specified through format descriptions. Online developers can adopt object-oriented programming, etc. In addition, IE0 has introduced a new file extension.HTA (Hypertext Application), which can launch a window without control items and status bars through this program, making the web browsing interface more concise.
6. Automatically add your favorite web pages to your favorites. To quickly add web pages to your favorites for revisiting in the future, you need to tap Ctrl+D. You do not need to enter other instructions, and the web page will be automatically added to the favorite folder.
7. Tips for Backing Up Favorites During the daily surfing process, when we encounter websites that we are interested in, we often add the URL of the corresponding website to the favorites of the system (IE calls it Collection, NETSCAPE calls it Bookmark), thus eliminating the steps of manually entering the URL when browsing the same website again, simplifying the user's operations. However, these carefully collected URL information are often "squandered" when reinstalling the system, so we generally hope to back up these URL information before reinstalling the system. Don't worry, for IE5, all "favorites" information is saved in the C:\Windows\Favorites folder (non-default users are saved in the C:\Windows\Profiles\Username\Favorites folder), and a file is recorded and a URL is recorded. We just need to back up all the files in the folder to achieve the purpose; for NETSCAPE, its bookmark is saved in the bookmark.htm file under the C:\ProgramFiles\Netscape\USER folder. We just need to back up the file to achieve the purpose of backing up the NETSCAPE bookmark.
8. Use the repair function to organize the interface. If abnormal things often happen when using IE5, such as the menu disappears, you can use the program repair tool. Open the Start menu, click Control Panel in Settings, double-click Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Internet Explorer5 in the Install/Uninstall bar, press the Add/Remove button, select Repair Internet Explorer, and then press OK. If this still doesn't solve the problem, please reinstall it.
9. Open a new IE window Sometimes you may want to open another WEB page without closing the current page. You can hold down the SHIFT key and click any link, and a new IE0 window will pop up, displaying the WEB page specified by the link. Or right-click a link and select "Open link in new window" in the pop-up shortcut menu.
10. Clear the address list. If you don’t want others to know the address you have visited, just select the “INTERNET option” of the “View” menu and click the “Clear History” button.
11. Create a link shortcut key. Right-click the button in the "Link" column of the browser. Select "Properties" in the pop-up menu. Use the left mouse button to click the "Shortcut Key" column, type a letter, select "OK", and then press ctrl+alt+ to type the letter to enter the website. For example, there is an item in the link bar that can be linked to Microsoft's homepage "Microsoft". If the letter you typed in the shortcut key bar is T, then you can use the keyboard to enter the key combination ctrl+alt+T to browse Microsoft's website.
