Save and configure system hardware registration information—Twelve of the entire registry usage strategy
As the computer has been used for a long time, it often needs to replace some hardware devices, and repeatedly installing drivers has become commonplace. This will cause a lot of hardware registration information to remain in the computer. When the system starts up, it will try to communicate with non-existent devices, resulting in a decrease in system speed. How to delete these registration information? Formatted? Too troublesome!
In fact, Windows has a "hardware configuration file" function, which is used to tell the computer which hardware devices to boot at startup. When the first time Windows is installed, the system creates a configuration file "Original Configuration" by default (Profile1 in Windows 2000 and Windows XP). We just need to delete it and create a new configuration file. So we have a brand new Windows hardware configuration file? Come with me:
1. Select "Start → Settings → Control Panel → System → Hardware Configuration File", or right-click on my computer and select "Properties → Hardware Configuration File", and you will see the configuration file "Original Configuration";
2. Select it, click "Rename" and give it a new name, such as "peizhi";
3. Select "peizhi", click "Copy", enter the file name of the backup file in the dialog box that appears, such as "peizhi2", click OK and restart the computer;
4. This time, the computer will not be directly entered into Windows. Instead, the following prompt will appear, allowing you to choose which hardware configuration file to use.
Windows Cannot determine what configuration your computer is one of the following:
2.peizhi2
of the above
Among them, "1" and "2" are configuration files that already exist in the system, and "3" is to let the system re-detect the hardware. Here, "3" must be selected to let the system re-detect the hardware. At this time, the "Detection Hardware" dialog box appears on the screen, prompting "The first time you start the computer with a new configuration, Windows must make some adjustments. This process takes about a few minutes";
5. After confirming, the "Configuration Settings" dialog box appears, prompting that "Windows has successfully set up the configuration of the new computer, and its name is Original Configuration". After "Confirm", after the hardware device is automatically or manually installed according to the normal method, the installation is completed, the system requires the computer to be restarted, and the new hardware configuration file will be created after restarting;
6. Right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties → Hardware Configuration File", delete the two configuration files except "Original Configuration" and it will be done (note that you must delete it here, otherwise you will also ask which configuration file you use when you start the computer).
